Jazcorp Australia Event Code of Conduct - Creating a Positive Event Experience

At Jazcorp Australia Pty Ltd and its affiliated event businesses (ADEB, Safety Managed, Mines and Environment, Oceans and Environment, Water Quality and Health, Net Zero Australia Collaborative Network, Health2ageducate, NDISLINK, NDISDA SDA Housing and Disability, SDA Conferences and Events,)  - ie, the Jazcorp Group, aims to ensure every event is inclusive, enjoyable, and safe.

Whether you are attending, presenting, exhibiting, sponsoring, or supporting behind the scenes, we want all participants to feel welcome and respected.

Our community thrives on collaboration, professionalism, and consideration.

 

To uphold this, we expect everyone to follow this Event Code of Conduct. In rare cases where behaviour falls short of these expectations, we reserve the right to intervene, including removing individuals from the event.

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Always prioritise your own safety and that of others.

  • Follow all venue, local, and national health and safety guidelines.

  • If you are feeling unwell or showing symptoms of illness, please refrain from attending in person.

  • Contact our team to explore alternative participation options.

  • Comply with all emergency procedures and security requirements.

  • Do not tamper with or misuse safety equipment, signage, or venue property.

  • Report any hazards, unsafe conditions, or concerning behaviour to event staff immediately.

Respectful Conduct

We are committed to maintaining an environment free from harassment, discrimination, and inappropriate behaviour.

 

Unacceptable conduct includes but is not limited to:

  • Harassment or intimidation of any kind, in person or online.

  • Discrimination based on race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, cultural background, or any other protected characteristic.

  • Offensive or abusive language, gestures, or imagery.

  • Unwelcome sexual advances, comments, or physical contact.

  • Threatening behaviour, stalking, or sustained disruption.

  • Vandalism, theft, or deliberate damage to property.

  • Possession of weapons or items used to intimidate others.

Participation & Engagement

  • Be courteous and respectful when engaging in discussions, Q&A sessions, and workshops.

  • Avoid disrupting presentations, panels, or networking activities.

  • Allow others equal opportunity to participate and contribute.

  • Respect boundaries—verbal, physical, and digital.

Responsible Behaviour

  • Follow all venue rules around alcohol, smoking, and vaping.

  • Do not attend or participate if under the influence of drugs or alcohol in a way that impacts your behaviour or the safety of others.

  • For activities involving machinery, technology, or equipment, ensure you are in a fit and responsible condition to participate safely.

Dress & Presentation

  • Dress appropriately for the professional setting of the event.

  • Avoid attire that may be considered offensive or inappropriate in relation to local culture and context.

  • For corporate events, hats, thongs (flip-flops), and overly casual clothing are not permitted.

Online & Digital Spaces

These expectations also apply to digital platforms, streaming events, and community forums hosted by Jazcorp Australia. This includes:

  • Refraining from posting discriminatory, offensive, or harmful content.

  • Avoiding the spread of false or misleading information.

  • Maintaining respectful, constructive communication with all attendees.

Sustainability & Responsibility

We encourage sustainable practices at all our events, including:

  • Using reusable bottles or containers where possible.

  • Disposing of waste responsibly and making use of recycling stations.

  • Considering environmentally friendly travel options.

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness any behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to event staff.

Contact details for the event team will be included in registration materials and on the event website.

 

All reports will be treated seriously, fairly, and confidentially.

Enforcement & Consequences

Anyone asked to stop inappropriate behaviour is expected to comply immediately. Failure to do so may result in:

  • Removal from the event without refund.

  • Exclusion from future Jazcorp Australia events, whether live or online.

  • Reporting of unlawful behaviour to relevant authorities.

  • We reserve the right to determine appropriate action in each circumstance.

Final Note

This Code of Conduct applies to all Jazcorp Australia Pty Ltd events, whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid.

By attending, you agree to abide by these principles and contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all.
